The shell of the helmet is made of durable plastic, making the construction durable and lightweight at the same time. An unquestionable advantage of the helmet is its great adjustability and its adaptability to the user's head. This is facilitated by a set of modular pads made of hard plastic and soft foam, which can be freely arranged inside the helmet thanks to Velcro straps. The 4-point faceplate with soft chin area, fastened with a fastex buckle, also offers a wide range of adjustment. An additional advantage of the facepiece is that it is made in a closed system, i.e. there are no loose, protruding adjustment straps. Circumference adjustment is carried out using a convenient knob located on the back of the helmet.
Like many other helmets based on the FAST design, the X-Shield is also equipped with a set of side mounting rails allowing for the attachment of a whole range of additional equipment such as goggles, tactical lighting, headsets, etc. There is a metal VAS mount on the front of the helmet, as well as lashing cables to allow the installation of NVG systems. An extensive set of modular mounts and clips is included.
Soft Velcro panels on the helmet for attaching morale patches, insignia, e-lite markers, etc., will certainly help to increase the cool factor. The shell of the PJ-type helmet also has holes to improve ventilation and reduce weight slightly.
