The helmet shell is made of solid plastic, making the structure durable and lightweight at the same time. The advantage of this helmet is the great possibilities of adjustment and fitting to the user's head. This is facilitated by a set of modular pads made of hard plastic and soft foam, which can be freely arranged inside the helmet thanks to Velcro straps. A wide range of adjustment is also provided by a 4point faceplate with a soft chin section, fastened with a fastex buckle. An additional advantage of the facepiece is that it is made in a closed system, i.e. there are no loose, protruding adjustment straps.

Like many other helmets based on the FAST design, the AIR FAST is also equipped with a set of side mounting rails allowing the attachment of a whole range of additional equipment such as , tactical lighting, headsets, etc. On the helmet's forehead, there is a plastic mounting and lashing cords allowing the installation of NVG systems.

The helmet's most distinctive feature is, of course, the modular construction combining two shells. This design significantly improves the breathability of the head under the shell.

The lank factor is certainly boosted by the soft Velcro panels on the helmet, allowing for the attachment of moralepatch patches, insignia, elite markers, etc. The shell of the BJtype helmet also has holes to improve ventilation and reduce weight slightly.
